Rapid Review: Jacuzzi Pinot Noir 2007

Jacuzzi Pinot The Jacuzzi family vineyard was founded in Northern California in 1921 by the Jacuzzi family that immigrated to the US in 1911. Today they own vineyards in Sonoma-Carneros and the Petaluma Gap situated in the Sonoma Coast appellation and have produced wines for over 60 years. It is in Sonoma Carneros where they grow their Pinot Noir grape. I had the opportunity to taste the Pinot Noir over the weekend. I specifically tasted the 2007 vintage.

Tasting Notes:
The wine was ruby red in color with a light brim, indicative of its youthfulness. On the nose I noted earthy notes and also red fruit however the predominate smells were floral notes which included dried rose leaves in rose oil and some dried tea leaves on the top. The nose is lovely and rich.
The palate was less expressive and included light notes of red fruit such as sour cherry and, as the wine opened up a bit, hints of raspberries. Overall I found the palate one dimensional and a disappointment when compared to its rich nose.

Overall rating – 88/100

The 2007 vintage is available online and is also available in Milwaukee. Email me if you’d like to purchase in WI.

  1. Hello Erica. I’m the Wisconsin wholesaler for Jacuzzi Family Vineyards. As of Feb. 24, 2010, Jacuzzi has yet to bottle their 2008 Pinot Noir, so I’m left wondering where you sampled this wine. Was it out of barrel at the winery? Also, the 2007 is the current vintage available in Milwaukee, not 2008.

  2. Hi Richard.

You are absolutely right. I tasted it in a local wine bar in Milwaukee and I did indeed taste the 2007 and not the 2008. Thanks for the comment and sorry for my mistake here!
I tasted it @Vino100Milwauke however I assume you can share with users other locations in Milwaukee where this can be purchased? Please do!

    Thanks, Erica
