The day I started exploring the world of wine I realized that not only does enjoying a glass of wine please the palate and senses but also that I have opened the door to a whole new universe which goes far beyond the most essential part of the hobby, the actual liquid that we so dearly love and consume. There are many reasons why wine has been loved for thousands of years which include factors such as the history of the wine/wine farm, the way we store the wine, what we use to consume it and the method we use to share it with friends. I know some people that will always decant a wine before being served, not only due to the fact that it usually makes the wine taste better as a result of the oxidation that occurs, but also because it is fun, it looks impressive and it adds a little to the glamor of opening a special bottle and sharing it with other wine lovers.

Now it seems that there is a way that both the novice as well as experienced wine lovers can share a glass, decanted, with friends without busting one’s budget. This method is effortless and modern, the decanter/server is easy to store and it looks gorgeous. The secret: the Centellino wine decanter.

I tried the Centellino wine decanter for the first time this weekend. It is much smaller than the regular decanting device, which makes it convenient for storage and being hand blown from one piece of glass this device is also sturdy in nature. Also, more importantly it looks impressive, it’s not very expensive and it serves the purpose of oxidizing the wine, one glass at a time vs. having to decant the entire bottle!

I poured the amount into the bosom of the Centellino wine decanter (which, for each pour equals one glass of wine exactly)  and then served. The method was quick, easy and fun. Additionally, I felt comfortable in leaving the wine bottle, uncorked with the Centellino wine decanter in it due to the fact that it protects the wine from further oxidation until one’s ready for another glass.
